    Substance Use Counselor

    Full-time, Part-time Chestertown & Glen Burnie, MDPay: $30.00 - $55.00 / hour

    We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated substance abuse counselor to help provide direction and support for our patients. In this role, you will be responsible for developing treatment and recovery plans, and identifying behaviors that impede rehabilitation. You may also be required to facilitate individual and group therapy sessions.

    To ensure success, substance abuse counselors should be familiar with the latest treatment methods, and collaborate with other mental health care specialists. Top-notch candidates have excellent clinical knowledge and demonstrable counseling experience.

    Responsibilities:

    • Managing all aspects of a case from date of entry to date of discharge.
    • Evaluating patients' physical and mental behaviors.
    • Developing appropriate treatment and recovery plans.
    • Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions.
    • Monitoring patients over time to access treatment progress.
    • Collaborating with psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, social workers, and departments of correction.
    • Identifying behaviors that interfere with treatment and recovery.
    • Assisting primary caregivers to manage addiction-related behavior.

    Requirements:

    • Previous experience with the treatment of substance abuse disorders.
    • Familiarity with electronic health record systems like ICANote would be advantageous.
    • Experience with co-occurring health and mental health problems.
    • Application of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services' (SAMHSA) best practice indicators.
    • In-depth knowledge of drug and alcohol testing to monitor treatment plans and medical instructions.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate nature.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Associate (Required)
    • Experience: Addiction counseling: 1 year (Preferred)
    • License/Certification: CAC-AD, CSC-AD, ADT, LCADC, LCSW (Required)

    Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)

    Full-time Hybrid remote in Glen Burnie, MDPay: $60.00 - $80.00 / hour

    Join our dynamic mental health team as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). The Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) must have a supervisory right, and would serve as a clinical supervisor responsible for providing oversight, guidance, and evaluation of behavioral health clinicians and trainees, including LGPCs, LGADCs, CAC-ADs, CSC-ADs, and AD-Trainees. The LCPC ensures that all supervisees deliver high-quality, ethical, and compliant clinical services in accordance with Maryland state regulations and professional standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide individual and/or group clinical supervision to LGPC, LGADC, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, and AD-Trainees
    • Monitor and evaluate supervisees' clinical performance and professional development
    • Review, edit, and co-sign clinical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
    • Ensure supervisees adhere to ethical standards, scope of practice, and professional guidelines
    • Assist supervisees with case conceptualization, diagnosis, and treatment planning
    • Maintain a clinical caseload (if applicable) and provide direct counseling services
    • Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans
    • Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions when necessary

    Requirements:

    • Active, unrestricted Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) license with supervisory right in the State of Maryland
    • Approval as a clinical supervisor by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists (as applicable)
    • Minimum of 2–5 years of post-licensure clinical experience (or as required by state regulations/employer)
    • Documented training in clinical supervision (if required for board approval)
    • Strong knowledge of behavioral health, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders
    • Proficiency in assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment practices
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C)

    • Active PMHNP certification and state license
    • DEA registration
